Foundry of Finance (FOF) is a blog dedicated to the development, explanation, and refinement of financial knowledge and investment strategies. "Foundry" suggests a place where raw materials are melted and cast into valuable products, symbolizing the blog's mission to transform raw financial data and concepts into valuable insights and actionable strategies for its readers. As such, FOF aims to be a crucible for financial learning and expertise, providing readers with comprehensive resources on various financial topics, including investment principles.
Reading annual letters by brilliant investors like Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger have greatly added to my experiences, enriching our understanding and shaping our investment philosophy. I have come to realize that investing is not just about making money but also about living better, achieving peace of mind, and fostering a disciplined and healthier lifestyle.
This blog is an outgrowth of a summer of great learning, inspired by the wisdom of Munger and Buffett, which I'm certain will bear fruits for years to come. Here, I aim to share insights, analyses, and strategies that reflect the timeless principles of these legendary investors, making complex financial concepts accessible and actionable for everyone.
New Direction for 2025:
As I look ahead, I'm envisioning Foundry of Finance as more than just a blog about finance—it will become a Foundry of Ideas. Think of it as a “Substack for college,” where students (and curious minds everywhere) can contribute articles on a broad array of topics, from art and history to culture, sports, politics, and beyond. On that note, I'm thrilled to welcome Ishaan Verma to the team! Ishaan will be contributing to these new endeavors and helping us expand our mission of fostering a vibrant learning community.
